Self PortraitsThe Self Portrait project required the students to capture images of themselves in imaginative ways. When taking the pictures, the photographers had the option to either take the photograph with the camera in the picture through the use of some kind of reflective surface or to use a tripod to take the picture. If the student chose to use a tripod, then before the picture was taken, he or she had to meter the area, set his or her aperture, shutter speed, and ISO appropriately, and set a timer. Overall, taking self portraits typically is a much longer process compared to other types of portrait photography. For my images, instead of varying poses between the pictures, I focused more on changing the way I edited each of my photographs. Additionally, I switched between taking pictures in a more real-life environment and a studio. All in all, I am extremely pleased with the resulting photographs.
