Farm Open RollNatalie took images for the Farm Open Roll at an old cattle barn. The open roll's only requirement was that each of the images should portray a theme or a mood. In other words, the project allowed her to think creatively to capture the landscape and barn in a unique way. The feelings that Natalie tried to convey in the photographs below include dilapidation, isolation, and dismay. One way that she attempted to demonstrate a depressing mood was by setting a few images in black and white because monochromatic images usually have a greater amount of contrast and shadows. Natalie remarked that the project was enjoyable since one could focus more on the story that the images would try to show the reader. On the other hand, less guidelines made it more difficult for her to decide what landscapes or objects she should capture.
